We rented the entire Inn for the weekend of our daughter's wedding. My husband's extended family came from four different states for the weekend, and Sea View Inn was the ideal spot for them all to stay. The location is very convenient, and an easy walk to downtown Carmel, its shops, restaurants, and of course, the famous Carmel Beach which is just a few blocks away. The Inn itself is absolutely lovely, with charming, fresh and beautifully decorated bedrooms and bathrooms, warm and spacious sitting rooms to gather in and socialize, and a dining room for the delicious breakfasts that are prepared each morning for the guests. Our family loved sitting in the garden with their coffee or on the front porch with a glass of wine at sunset. Margo, the innkeeper, is so very welcoming and helpful! She contacted us well in advance of our dates to see if we had any special requests, greeted our family upon arrival, and ensured that everyone had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The Sea View Inn is a very special property with so many personal touches and I highly recommend it for a family gathering or a vacation getaway with friends.

Our family came from all different cities to celebrate my daughters engagement. We rented the entire Inn which we all absolutely fell in love with. Margo , the Inn keeper ,was very informative and we knew if we needed anything at all she would be available to help us. Every room was decorated beautiful with high end luxury bedding and bath supplies. My daughter loved it so much and is now planning the wedding of her dreams in Carmel. We will be celebrating again at the Sea View Inn a long with all our friends and family. The find of a lifetime!

We chose to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary at the Sea View Inn and it was the perfect location! We loved the short walk to the beach and our leisurely walks through the neighborhood and even into town. We chose to rent the entire Inn and were so glad this was an option. We had plenty of room for our family coming from all over the country. Ahead of our stay, I worked with Margo to have flowers from a local florist delivered to my parents room and other special touches to make their anniversary so special. Margo was very accommodating. Our rooms were clean and the bathrooms were fresh and newly renovated-beautiful! We all had a wonderful stay and hope to go back again soon!

I booked the entire Inn for a 3 night girlfriend getaway...We were greeted with a warm welcome, shown around the Inn, all amenities explained...The spacious rooms are very cozy and comfortable with exquisite bedding, great nights sleep!, updated bathrooms are very pristine...It's a 2 block short walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to town with all shops and restaurants...We really enjoyed the back patio and garden, sitting out with our coffee in the morning, very serene and peaceful...We also enjoyed our wine sitting by the fireplace along with playing games in the game room...I would highly recommend a stay at the Inn...We will be making the annual girlfriend getaway at the Sea View Inn!

This is the best Carmel hidden jewel!!! Take your whole family, take it over for a wedding, get your best friends and go for the weekend!!! Margo greets you at the front door and makes everyone feel loved and special. We highly recommend it to everyone!!!

We rented the whole Inn out for a birthday celebration, and it was the perfect setting for the festivities. It is a warm and cozy environment. The Inn Keeper is a gracious and joyous woman who genuinely cares about the guests. The rooms are comfortable for a pleasant night's sleep, and the bathrooms are beautifully designed. We woke up to warm quiches, croissants and strong coffee. We then walked to the beach which is a few blocks away. It is a quick walk to town too for shopping and a myriad of fabulous restaurants. Sea View Inn is a home away from home. We will continue to go back over the years.

Traveling is about experiences. In a world where we’re constantly surrounded by superficial and cheap, it was a marvelous revelation to stay in Carmel at the Sea View Inn where every fiber of the home breathes a story and makes you feel like you’re at the home you never knew you had. 

Warmth and deep blissful energy from the surrounding nature, the sounds of the historic home, the sea breeze, the misty dawn walks... I can’t fully express in words how right the Inn feels to be at and I can’t wait to experience it again one day with a few intimate friends and our family.

Close proximity to the beach and walking distance to restaurants. We love the design of the bathrooms and bedrooms! Cozy, clean, walkable to the beach and into town. Great option for an intimate gathering, wedding or birthday party. It feels like home.

The best spot in Carmel-by-the-Sea!

We hosted some of our family and friends at the Sea View Inn during the summer of 2020 for our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. The Inn was so charming! The rooms were great for us and our guests with large comfortable beds and fun shared spaces. The backyard was also lovely, well kept, and where we hosted a small reception. It was ideal! Deborah was also super helpful and gave us all the insights to best spots around town.

Sea View is located a few blocks from both the beach and the heart of the town - the location is awesome! I’d absolutely recommend Sea View Inn and can’t wait to go back soon!

Such a charming and welcoming place that it feels like you are living in your own home! Great location, but also quiet and private. We rented one room, but would definitely love to rent this entire inn for a large group in the future. Innkeeper Margo is a gem!

We had an amazing stay at the Sea View Inn!! Margo, the Inn keeper, is extremely kind and personable. We had a lovely time catching up with her each morning. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning at chatting with the other guests. The room was absolutely fabulous! Our bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom looked liked something I want in my home. Just a short walk to downtown restaurants and the beach. We will definitely be back!!

I couldn't say enough good things about the Sea View Inn. We had a late arrival and when I emailed to let them know as we were flying to Monterey, Margo wrote me back right away to let me know how to handle our late arrival. We were so pleased with how the house looked, warm, cozy, charming, and most importantly, clean! We slept well each night of our three night stay and even had the window open to hear the ocean one of the nights. We stayed in room 4 on the third level, and had a private restroom in our room. We were so happy that we chose to stay here. We enjoyed the breakfast provided after our first night, and had a nice conversation with Margo, who was so wonderful and friendly. She even helped me with my dress as I needed to get ready for a wedding we were attending. Parking was never an issue, and the perhaps the best part of the SVI is that you really do feel like you live in the neighborhood. I went for a run in the mornings as my BF read on the porch. Perfect stay. We agreed that the next time we visit Carmel, we will be back. Thank you Margo and Minerva!

We stayed at your inn this last summer and we wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed ourselves. We were cordially greeted by Everett and our room was beautiful and very comfortable. Later in the evening, he graciously offered to sit down with us and recommend some of the best restaurants in the village. We enjoyed the breakfast the next morning and Margo took very good care of us throughout our stay.

The time spent in Carmel was delightful, and we hope to make it a regular occurrence.

I stayed at the Sea View Inn during the Pebble Beach Pro-Am weekend last February. We all had a great time and loved the stay at this wonderful B&B. The location is fantastic as we were easily able to walk into town for dinner but it was far enough away to keep us sheltered from the noise in the heart of Carmel during the busy part of the day - it really is the best location of many places we have stayed around town. The Inn itself was wonderful; my room was comfortable, cozy and quiet - a great night's sleep, we enjoyed relaxing in the family room and on the front porch for breakfast before dinner and after going into town for dinner. Finally the breakfast was way above our expectations; plentiful and delicious and the service was excellent and gracious. I'm looking forward to staying at the Sea View Inn again during my next trip to Carmel!

This was a wonderful place to stay for a number of reasons! We stayed for two nights at the end of June and I have to say it is more of a total experience than just accommodation! It is a quaint lovely attractive place. It is about five blocks over from the main Street in Carmel – which is much much better than staying actually on the main street – the reason is that it is very quiet and you are in the middle of the most wonderful residential area, surrounded by wonderful homes. We spent hours just wandering around looking at the houses in the neighborhood! If you are not fit enough to walk the lovely 10/15 minutes over to the main street from here, then you have serious health problems! The sea is literally a few minutes walk away and so to comment "it does not have a sea view" is just damn picky – do your research! Don’t even consider staying anywhere else. It’s wonderful and very good value for money.
